
Adventure Training North East is a family run business managed by Jon and Caroline Chamberlain. ATNE has been facilitating exciting outdoor learning opportunities since 2006. Working alongside them on the Forest School courses is Colette Cookson.
Jon is a Mountaineering Instructor and highly enthusiastic outdoor educator. 20 years teaching PE in secondary schools in Derbyshire, Newcastle and Northumberland, with 10 years as an Assistant Head further enhanced his skills and experience.
Caroline’s passion for the outdoors was developed through childhood trips to the Lakes, and later, expeditions to South America, South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand. She spends every spare minute of her valuable time honing and refreshing her personal climbing, navigation, mountain biking and skiing skills.
Colette has worked in a number of schools, teaching Geography and all aspects of outdoor education. She has led school expeditions to Tanzania with World Challenge, and currently leads and assesses Duke of Edinburgh expeditions in the north of England. Colette is also a keen climber, mountain biker and hill walker.
